the huge fonts hurt my eyes

I’m still relatively new to the world of blogging, so will find out if this is a pure html coding, or it’s importable. In the mean time, bear with the huge fonts, and fairly odd color coordination. What else… ooh, I watched Big Fish over the weekend, and it currently stands as my favorite movie of the year. I am a sucker for Tim Burton movies, that and a rocky father-son relationship, with a happy ending (up to the individual’s interpretation) sold me. It has sort of a trippy hazy fictional backdrop, and with Ewan McGregor playing this euphoric lead character. The whole cast ensemble is brilliant, and it’s the first time I saw Jessica Lange in a movie for a long time. With Steve Buscemi in a movie, you know that it’s going to be nothing short of good. Don’t feel like revealing anything of the story at all, ‘cept that it is really good, and I dare say you can set your level of expectancy real high and not be disappointed at all. Can’t say the same for Return of the King… well, that is my opinion anyway, didn’t seem to sway the academy in handing out the Oscars for best picture did it, heh. Here is the rollingstone review of Big Fish, if ya don’t trust moi.

The prequel to many a sequels.

This would be my blank canvas to start anew, and on it hopefully my rants would find a chord with anyone who bothers reading it. First off, I just need to mention this brilliant artiste that I chanced upon. Her name is Cara Dillon, and I am just in awe with her voice, and how it is able to carry all the colors of the rainbow to my mind when I close my eyes. You must be thinking that I am whole lotta cow excrement at the moment. Suffice to say that not everybody is going to agree with me, why not just take a chance and listen to her. I can’t find many websites dedicate to her, so I’m just going to link you to her official website here. My first post, and already I am trying to endorse an artiste, heh.

Which reminds me of an episode of Letterman, which was hilarious partly because most of the times the guest are there for a reason. So up comes this chap by the name of Harmony Korine, who was there to promote his then new book. So Letterman asked him about the book and whether it was any good, and Korine replied with, “I dunno man, I don’t want to be endorsing it or anything.” Okay I can’t remember, the exact words but it was something along these lines. It’s good to be modest to a certain extend, I suppose. But at least he made an impression on me enough, that I quite often tell this story… it’s all credited to his name, and often enough it involved a whole lotta hand gestures, and body movements to make it interesting. Right I can’t remember, what the point that I was trying to convey.

I’ll end it now; will bombard this blog with recommendations on albums and books another time. Rock on folks, or in this case chill to some soothing Irish folk music today!
